ive had a couple requests on how to make things like these:
So!
i have decided to create a short, simple, tutorial on them xD!
this is designed for photoshop cs4, though other versions should work (and ive also heard gimp has very similar things?)
here you go peeps!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
640x640 (pixels) 300 pixel per inch squared resolution
Filter>render>difference clouds
Filter>pixelate>mezzotint>select short strokes >ok
Filter>blur>gaussian blur (set to around 3-5)> ok> edit>fade gaussian blur> change 'normal' to hard light and the meter to 100%>ok
Filter>blur>radial blur>select zoom and best then change the setting to 100
Duplicate layer
-----------------------can do this in reverse order if its easier--------------------
On bottom layer press ctrl-U press colorize, then choose your settings
On top layer do the same (different color)
On top layer go to Filter>distort>Twirl> change the degrees to 100 (or whatever you choose)
On bottom layer go to Filter Distort>twirl change the degrees to MINUS 100 (or whatever you choose)
---------------------^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^------------------
On top layer press once where it says normal (above layer pane) and slowly press then down button until you see one you like
VOILA’
P.S. you can muck around with color just press ctrl-U again xD
Also muck around with the layer style e.g. exclusion, difference, or overlay
And if you also want, you can create another layer and twirl that, or do something else, and change its layer style too!!
Enjoy
