Hey guys,
Since Streak left the clan, and I cant update his post to add riddles, I am starting this new thread basically continuing his work.
This time I, §§}Church will be working on riddles for the rest of you.
Remember: Think outside the box.
I may have to reset the scores if we make a medal for this. Just a heads up.
Riddles:
1. If AGMOLIE means LEOPARD in a certain code, what are the animals listed below?
EMX
QLN
FLTZNGI
XRILWWG
WALTRSXM
Now write the following animals names in the same code: LION, GORILLA, OSTRICH
2. There is an animal hiding in each sentence below. Can you find the animals? Example: There's a bee in "I'll be eleven next month." Hint: You'll have to look in three words to find some of the animals.
We can go at six o'clock.
It's nice to do good deeds.
Take soap and a towel.
Most rich people wear fancy clothes.
You can keep the watch or sell it.
Use a ladder.
It will be a rainy day.
I came late.
Tell me if I should start now.
Will a map help you?
3. Change each of the following words to a different word by placing two letters in between the letters indicated. The two new letters have to be consecutive—that is, they have to come right after one another in the alphabet, such as the letters IJ or RS. For example, you can change BE to BABE by putting the letters AB in between B and E.
SIT (put two consecutive letters between I and T)
YOUNGER (put two consecutive letters between G and E)
BAY (put two consecutive letters between A and Y)
BEND (put two consecutive letters between E and N)
HONEY (put two consecutive letters between E and Y)
4. Manuel's birthday is a month that has no 'a' or 'e' in its spelling. This year Manuel's birthday falls in the first week of that month and on a day of the week that has an 'e' and a 'u' in its spelling.
When is Manuel's birthday this year?
5. What determined the order of girls' and boys' names in the lists below?
Girls: Heather, Ellen, Laura, Anne, Nancy
Boys: Andy, Ted, Mike, Dick, Vic
Answers:
1. Not Answered.
2. See Timmehs post.
