the first ones easy, its a sponge.
The second one is alot harder and i love puzzles heres what I think
if both picked one right and one wrong and niether picked louis for third place I'm going to make a guess on the assumtion that louis is the third place winner. Next for second place Albert picked louis and under my assumtion thats not true so second place has to be rene. and that just leaves johannes for first. so to simplify
1)johannas 2)rene 3)louis don't laugh at me if I get it wrong
I'll have to get back to you on the third riddle, its a doozie

Yes, Halogirl. The first two are correct. I'll wait for the 3rd one to be there.

I had to write this one out on paper as well. Took two sheets ;D
if you are only allowed to pick on fruit from one box you have to pull a fruit from the box labeld both. If its an apple then you know that the both box contains the apples. You said that all boxes are labeled wrong so we know that the one labeled apples contains oranges and the one that contains oranges contains both. Its simple reasoning when you lay it out on paper. I know I'm hogging these so I won't do anymore so others can have a chance. Unless its been days and no one has guessed the right answer.
Good work making me think on these though.

since no one has posted an answer, I'm going to,
You use round man hole covers so it won't fall in on itself no matter how it falls.
You get rid of the note that you picked out somehow. Put it in your pants or something and when the person checks the other note to see which one you got, he will pull the one that says "death" on it and assume you drew the one that said life.

thanks for catching my mistake halogirl. I totally read that wrong. I'll still give you the point, but for number two instead, and halogirl gets the point for number 3. I wont have more riddles on for a few hours, since I am at school and dont have access to my riddle collection.

3) I'm going to say yeah, I don't think it matters what the earth is or the length of the wire. You still have 10 m of slack. And anyone can tell that 10 m in slack will be 5 m in height, because it has to go up and back down. So a short person could, but a normal man would have to duck.
