South Park, it's actually funny and not pure idiocy. I can't even watch a new Family Guy episode anymore, the writers are like "how can we make this episode twice as retarded as last weeks?" every week... it stopped being funny a long time ago.

south park is the scum of the earth, its not funny, its not even decent animation, it looks like crap, has no decent storyline, and isn't worth the paper its written on.
Family Guy has funny characters, great intermixed humor, lots of amusing backstories in the plot, and is an all around great animated series.

I think Church summed up what i was going to say. but I like family guy more just because of the randomness of it. One minute its stewie and brian at a legalize pot convention, and the next theyre singing about how everything is better with a bag of weed. XD

I don't know what's worse, calling South Park bad or calling Family Guy good. I'm talking about South Park seasons 1-13, 14 is god awful and makes me want to cry. Of course you're entitled to your own opinions, but here are mine. South park is really well written and covers pretty much every topic you can think of. They parody movies, current events and the like. They have original ideas and their episodes actually have meaning. It isn't just one interchangeable joke after the other. Family guy use similes as though they were necessary for every minute of show time. The similes introduce jokes that have no value to the plot, they are completely random in an attempt to be funny. That doesn't make for great humour, I'm sure you could find many seven year olds who could insert a Family Guy joke and you wouldn't know the difference. No animated series really has good animation because it isn't needed. You don't watch an animated show to go "wow" at the visuals, you watch it because they can tell far more broad stories than actors and special effects ever could. That said, south park's animation is good, after season 1 it's perfectly reasonable bearing in mind it started in 1997 and its first episode was constructed with craft paper. Family Guy started in 1999. You should watch one of South Park's great episodes, and yes the list is huge. Scott Tenorman Must Die, Sexual Harassment Panda, Two Guys Naked in a Hot Tub, Are you there God? It's me Jesus, The Tooth Fairy Tats 2000, Cartman's Silly Hate Crime 2000, Cartman Joins NAMBLA, Do The Handicapped go to Hell?, Probably, Fat Camp, Super Best Friends, Cartmanland, Proper Condom Use, Kenny Dies, Free Hat, A Ladder to Heaven, The Death Camp of Tolerance, The Biggest Douche in the Universe, My Future Self 'n Me, Red Sleigh Down, Toilet Paper, Christian Rock Hard, Casa Bonita, The Passion of the Jew, AWESOME-O, Woodland Critter Christmas, Die Hippie, Die, The Dead of Eric Cartman, Two Days Before the Day After Tomorrow, Ginger Kids, Free Willzyx, Cartoon Wars Part I, Cartoon Wars Part II, With Apologies to Jessie Jackson, The Ring, The Coon, Fishsticks, Pinewood Derby, Butters' Bottom Bitch, Whale Whores, Dances With Smurfs, Pee, Medicinal Fried Chicken. That's only what I can remember as epic episodes based on the episode name. Yes, I had nothing better to do. I used to watch Family Guy, the reason I started was because my friends watched it. But I never really got into it mainly because I have no respect for a show that cannot integrate jokes into its plot. |

South Park is WAY better, they do stuff which is actually related to anything that is worth a damn in life, like current affairs, celebrities etc... Family Guy is just a whole bunch of random stuff molded into a meaningless plot, South Park is just so much better, by far GO KYLE! |
