Hey everyone,
You'll notice there is a new server available. I'm hosting it.
I have a temporary SDTM map up right now just to have the server running. However, I would like any ideas or input on what maps people would like for that server. I can (and most likely will) put it on a rotation for whatever you guys want.
The main rule for this server is that it is strictly SDTM based (like SS4). Here's a list of the SDTM Maps in which I can put the server on rotation:
beavercreek bloodgulch carousel chillout damnation dangercanyon deathisland gephyrophobia hangemhigh icefields prisoner ratrace sidewinder timberland wizard
Keep in mind we already have a full-time SDTM bloodgulch map running on SS4. Also keep in mind that, while you'll notice your sniper does some crazy-tank-round-damage, not all the portals/tele's will be immediately noticeable in these other maps (they're not marked like they are in the blood gulch modded map).
So needless to say, it'll be a learning experience for everyone. Haha. Anyway, all ideas are more than welcome!

Since this is rotational is this still CTF or are you planning to make this Team Slayer? Just to make the rotations a bit faster.

A few people have told me they like the hangemhigh SDTM map so far. That may be a keeper. I will admit that it's a major kill-fest in there. Edit: Spawn Killing may be a prob on these smaller maps. Then again, when is it not?

When I used to play Quake back in the good old days they had a one shot one kill mod that really made the games go fast. Hows about a beavercreek with a shotgun the fires tank rounds??? Kill fest is the word of the day!! Maybe an extra portal on each side so the spawn kill would be kept down?? I fit could spot you random areas around the map that would help the sk also. No one could sit on an incoming portal and sk. I know this must be a pain in the neck to code but hey you asked for ideas. If you like that one I got a couple hundred more.

I loved this one modded map for Danger Canyon, I think it was. It had perfect mods to get around the map decently.
I vote for Danger Canyon, with or with out the mods, preferably some mods (portals).

I have 3 SDTM maps that are up for possible rotation, and this is by no means permanent so if you guys don't like it don't get all upset! Haha. Here's how it's going down so far: 1) Beavercreek: I got this working pretty well! It'll be the first in my map rotation. Team killing is disabled and nades are limited... that's a good thing because this is a small map. 2) Hangemhigh: (Disabled until further tweaking) I think I have this one down pretty good. Sniper rifles on default. Spawn killing can happen pretty easily unfortunately. Oh, one last thing. I noticed on this map (not the others) there is a lagtime when people quit, and if they try to rejoin they get a cd key in use error. Happened to me several times. This may take this particular map out of the cycle... 3) Dangercanyon: This is pretty epic. Sniper rifles on default. Most of the people decided to join on this map. It's big enough, that's for sure. There are unknown tele's throughout the map that we'll have to discover together. Main issues: *I caught several botters right off the bat so, Church, somehow I have to get a good Banlist (maybe from SS4?) if that's possible. *Nades are becoming a pain... I disabled teamkilling in all maps for the moment. Too many accidental autobans. *Need a preference on default weapons. Should it be snipers no matter what? Or can pistols be default and you have to run to find snipers? Note that pistols are still one shot, one kill for SDTM. ------- Otori: I like your ideas but I'm not able to create maps in that way just yet (SDTM shotguns? ). If anyone else can do this, then I'd be happy to implement and give it a shot. Quicker: Epic map choice! You were spot on with this idea. Mods are great on here. Lecrae: Will definitely try those maps out tomorrow after work. (4PM PST).

How about we have no unlimited nades. I don't think BooM said there was going to be unlimited nades, unless I missed something. Also, if you need some help with the modding of weapons or maps, BooM, I could help you out. I picked up a few techniques from Colt back in the day, he was a great modder.

I vote Geph in the rotation, theres some sweet mods, also Sidewinder.....But without ports it would be boring. Also there are a few mods out for boarding action where you can go to the bottom, and the TOP.....but i don't think boarding action was on your list. (The mods make boarding action a big map)

Alrighty,
*First off, thanks Predator! I think I'll need that pretty soon. I'm doing alright just by manipulating gametypes but I want to tweak the maps a bit more than what it will let me do... *No unlimited nades... In other words, you start with a certain amount of grenades and that's what you get until you either pick some more up or you die and respawn. I think this is vital on smaller maps. *Falling takes down your shield a fraction of an amount on Danger Canyon, so I don't think that'll be much of an issue. *Still haven't added any more maps. Sorry for that. :\ I will get to it as soon as I can and Geph will be next. Mon-Thurs are very busy for me as I have both 8 hours of work and 5 hours of class each day. On that note though, it seems people are having fun in the two maps that are in rotation at this moment. *Added the SS4 banlist thanks to Church. This should cut down on the botters I've been fighting.

Hey BooM, in your Danger Canyon map, is it the same portals as what Skelito had on his? If so, I think the Sniper Rifle needs to be scaled down a tad so we can access one port. The port I'm talking about is on top of the spire on the base in the middle( See Here). I'm just wondering if the ports are the same because Skelito had the same ports at the bases, then in the room with the tunnels by jumping on top of the little violet coloured things( See Here). I'm still trying to remember all the ports, but all the ones I found were the same.
