Just got back from the dentist, what an experience this time. You guys got any interesting stories? My story, I sit down in the chair and the old lady starts cleaning my teeth. You know the sharp metal probe they use to remove the little bit of tartar(calculus)? Before she even touches a tooth she jabs it into my gums. Ow!, followed by a,"Woops, sorry, your gums are closer than I thought." About 15 seconds later another good jab. Agh! Then when she's just bout done went to get the last little bit, dragged the probe across my gums... Then the dentist comes in to look at my teeth with his magnifying glasses. He makes a comment about not flossing regularly enough because my gums are red and bleeding. I explain that my gums were just jabbed quite hard several times. He looks confused, I further explain... in a belittling way...,"C'mon! Cavemen had it figured out. Pointy thing in fleshy thing makes red water appear!" Oh boy... So he leaves after saying my teeth look fine. Now she brushes my teeth with that special brush they have at the dentists with that industrial strength toothpaste, got the root beer flavour.  Unfortunately it didn't taste like A&W... or smell...or really taste at all... Onto the flossing. This went about as well the tartar removal. Just as the floss would slip between my teeth...thunk, the floss can't go any further because my gums are in the way, quite painful because she would continue to press down for another second or so. Every gap between my teeth was the same. Then the fluoride, I usually enjoy this because every time they have grape flavour, and it tastes quite good and after my teeth feel polished and smooth. Then it was over... the end... though my gums still ache a little. So, you guys have any good dentist stories? |

Well i was little and one of my loose baby teeth wouldnt come out,so the dentist decided to give me the gas and didnt give me anywhere near enough (or the gas dosent work on me,which is highly likely,)as soon as he started pulling i kicked the crap out of his chest and i got up crying in pain and i dislike ALL forms of pain ever since

got a tooth abscess and the dentist had to give me quadruple douse of the anesthetic which was apparently to much and i had to go to school for 2 weeks with a cheek the size of a watermelon
every1 thouth i got into a bad fight

All that I can think of when I was young was knocking out my teeth.  Yeah.. good times in the ER. ;D Dentist: Um. Not really, only ... nah, nothing. |

mine is when i went the nurse girl thingy majigger gave me the numbing then doc comes in im like the drill hurts give me more she misses and gets me up top and im like damn lady cmon so she sticks my in right spot this time, then im like doc i need more and if its not right dose u get no pay, nurse comes in accidentally sticks my cheers on outside numbs my face, im like doc just get it over with i end up getting 1 tooth drilled and it took 6 hours for a cavity smaller than an ant...

A few years ago I got drunk on a trampoline, it didn't end well. Snapped a tooth in half and ripped off the back of it. In the years since I've had various root canals and am getting a crown, which, fun fact costs $600.00 after having 90% of it subsidised... :/

Another time, I'm not sure what dentist did, but one side of my face was numb for like a week and a half. I have no idea what he did, but I think when he injected me with the numbing solution he must have hit a good nerve or something by accident.

Wow no one is going to tell a wisdom teeth story?! I got four of them taken out at once. Very Painful experience. But the pain doesn't set in until after the anesthesia wears off. I was so loopy on that stuff, i felt higher than space itself. But after it wore off the pain was excruciating. For people who haven't got them taken out yet. Have fun  |

Wisdom teeth are funny thing, xrays show that I only have two potential wisdom teeth, one on top left and bottom left, and if they grow to the point that they need removing is questionable.

Ok well, i have braces, and the dentist was measuring my teeth, he said open wide, before i could open, he shuved wax into my mouth, i choked, and swore at him, before that, he ripped 4 of my teeth out with little painkillers.., then i bled for along time, without noticing, because it was numb, ended up covered in blood..

That reminds me... my mom went to the dentist to do some kind of drilling done. Once she was done, she was in a lot of pain and told them, and they suggested to take a couple of motrin and that she'll be find in about a week. After about a month or something like that, it was still lots of pain, so they knew they did something wrong.. like always.. and they told her to go to a pharmacy and get some high drug medicine.
She went the the pharmacy, right? She goes get the recommended medicine, but its not strong enough and still aggravating pain. So, the dentist tells her to get some of a really stronger medicine, which I believe is one of the strongest. She goes to the pharmacist and ask for it, and the pharmacist looks at her as if she was a drug addict. xD She explained and the pharmacist was still denying to give her the medicine, so she had to talk to the manager, or who ever was in charge for the day and tell them everything. xD

Dr. Lee has always been a great dentist to me and my family. He does what needs doing with the least amount of pain possible. I hate that thing though where they poke your gums all around and read off numbers 1-4. that part hurts.
