Associus, apparently you and I share tastes in reading. I enjoyed Piers Anthony's Xanth series and his Adept series. It's been a while since I read Xanth though.

Christopher Moore has written some good books, although they are definitely for a mature audience. Some of his works that I have read are: A Dirty Job You Suck Bloodsucking Fiends The Lust Lizard of Melancholy Cove
While they are graphic in nature, they also have a comedic side to them. I still don't encourage anyone under 18 to read them, but I do know of people who have.

I like to read various books. I don't pay attention to the books but it keeps me busy when I'm bored. I read them....occasionally.

I like to read books with vampires and werewolves in them, the most recent series I have read is the Twilight series. I would have to say, also, that this series is my favorite. P.S. I have also read some of the Halo books.

Twilight...... *Shudders* Im into the classic's: Candide, Crime and Punishment, East of Eden, Catcher in the Rye, most books by existentialist and transcendentalist. Nothing beats a classic. I have also read those crazy zombie books like WWZ and The Zombie Survival Guide..... I like to read, that's the gist....

Anyone read The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy Trilogy? I've read the first two, the first one is good the second is just confusing. I like the Diskworld series by Terry Pratchett, I also like the Harry potter series and Jurassic park, and Timeline.

I've finally gotten back into the "Wheel of Time" series from Robert Jordan with "The Gathering Storm". I've read something like ten books in the series already. They used to come out about once a year, then when RJ started writing Conan books, the WoT books started coming out about every two years. Naturally of course this delay caused his last book(s) finalizing the series to not be written before his death a couple of years ago.
Luckily his wife contracted another author (and huge fan of RJs) to finish the last book as a posthumously collaborative effort based upon the notes that RJ had made about how he wanted the story to flow and end. He knew he was dying so he laid the ground work for his epic series of novels to be finished for his fans by someone else.
It turns out the "last book" is coming out as three books because the story ending was just too large to fit in one book. BTW, his absolute smallest book in the series is nearly 800 pages long.
Definitely good books to read if you like fantasy. However, the final two books have not been published yet.

Lately I've been reading "A Dream of Eagles" series by Jack Whyte. It's about the tales of ol'. It take place right before the story of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. The first book is about a man of the Roman army, who is Primus Pilus(highest rank or Centurion), and how after a wound in battle changed his life. The books make references to historical events and pretty much follows the lives of the descendants of the Primus Pilus. After the wound in battle he moves to the Roman state of Britain to live on his friend's villa. The friend and him foresee the fall of Britain and start preparing for the fall and create a small colony on the villa. After their times have passed the now larger colony is named Camulod(yes with a "d"). They're a great series, although I would not recommend them to younger audiences due to very mature subject matter ;D
