I agree with Sam, that the two days a week he has chosen are BOTH weekdays for many of the members who live in Australia or New Zealand. Making it Wednesday and Saturday on the other hand allows the oceanic contingent of the clan to participate on a weekend, while still having a weekday opportunity for everyone else who can make it.
